A PLACE TO UNWIND
At 61 Bridge St, life moves at a gentler pace. Tucked in the heart of the historic village of Ongaonga, you can stretch into a yoga class, linger over art, or retreat to the comfort of Harry’s Hideaway. One welcoming space, many ways to unwind.

IF THE WALLS COULD TALK
61 Bridge St is a building with a story to tell. It was built in the late 1800's by Mr Coles (of the Coles Factory across the road), to be run as a General Store by his son-in-law Mr Harry Whyte. The shop was destroyed by a huge fire in 1909 and was rebuilt to open again in 1911 - this is the store as it stands today. Mr Whyte owned the first motor vehicle in the area (a Rio) and used it to deliver groceries and supplies.
In 1976, the doors closed, after 80 years trading as a General Store - passing through several owners in that time. Between 1976 and the present day it has housed a printer/publishing house, an art gallery and Poodles antiques bazaar. Current owners Richard and Michelle bought the property in 2024 and have lovingly restored the character building whilst capturing and retaining her charm.

Step inside and explore our eclectic collection of art, lovingly collected over the years alongside the work of talented local artists. Whether you’re an art lover or just curious, there’s always something inspiring to discover here at 61 Bridge Street.
